I’m not kidding… these travel destinations actually exist and aren’t a figment of your imagination.

    1) Sea of Stars, Maldives:
Just as the name entails, the Sea of Stars is basically a sea that lights up at night, which looks like a starry portal to another galaxy. The stunning sight is caused by bioluminescent phytoplankton that emit light when stressed, giving the appearance of a starry night in the sea.

    2) Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia:
This place houses the world’s largest salt flats. Ever had those dreams where you’re surrounded by reflections? Well that’s how Salar de Uyuni is on rainy days. The rain water makes the salt flats look like one giant mirror.

    3) Lake Natron, Tanzania:
A beautiful salt lake with reddish crusted salt on the surface, this site looks like the insides of a mammal’s stomach. If anyone’s seen Osmosis Jones then you’ll know what I’m talking about.

    4) Black Forest, Germany:
This evergreen region literally looks something out of a fairy tale and with good reason as well. The Brothers Grimm set many of their stories – including “Little Red Riding Hood”, in the dark depths of the Black Forest.

    5) Laguna Salada de Torrevieja, Spain: Okay, I am honestly surprised that I haven’t been to this place yet. It’s definitely on my bucket list though. The water at Laguna Salada de Torrevieja looks pink due to a type of special algae. This is probably a place where Barbie dolls would come to party.

    6) Glowworm Caves, New Zealand:
Wanted to make your Peter Pan dreams a reality? Then this place should be on your bucket list the next time you travel. The cave is lighted up by glowworms in shades of blues and green, making the resulting sight a feast to the eyes. The cave is located in Waitomo, New Zealand.

    7) Marble Caves, Chile:
Accessible only by boat, the Marble Caves or Cuevas de Mármol are situated on a solid marble peninsula and change colors depending on the time of year and water levels. The place is a living and breathing work of art.

    8) Seven Colored Earth of Chamarel, Mauritius:
In my opinion, this place looks like a giant rainbow eye- shadow palette. The multicolored earth in Chamarel was formed when volcanic rock cooled at different temperatures.
