Constantly being interrupted, being talked over, being thought of as “just a girl”, and always being promoted over- does this entire scenario sound familiar? Well, it is bound to if you are a girl!
However, when we rant about it, we speak up for ourselves and talk about how these things are like setbacks for our life and career goals, some men tend to simply dismiss us saying that it is not that big of a deal.
This is why, BuzzFeed recently conducted an experiment that included the reversal of gender roles, and this time the men were the ones to fetch the cake for the party!
The video showed in a few seconds of what women have to go through at work, on a daily basis. Like how if a client or an investor comes for a meeting, they literally pretend that you the girl in the room is invisible and do not even shake hands *tears paperwork out of frustration* Or how they do not really want your opinion on things.
The video then goes on to feature a guy tripping on a bottle of beer and waking up in a world where the gender roles are reversed! Talk about total topsy turvy!
The guy is constantly getting talked over as if he does not has a voice, or even worse- does not exist! He got assigned task that he didn’t want to do, asked to review texts or documents that were only offensive to his gender, and not getting the chance to show his true
potential.
In the end, the man wakes up and goes on to tell his female colleagues about what he had dreamt while he passed out.
However, he stops after saying only 2-3 sentences because another guy from the office called him. He then runs away, forgetting that his colleagues even exist. *sigh* Men will always be…just men, right?
