    PERIOD

What comes knocking-sometimes banging- at our door 400 times a week? *drum roll* THE RED DOT SPECIAL! Yet, no matter how many periods we’ve got under our belts, we still get affected. We feel run-down, cranky as hell and aches and pains puts us on our a**es! During my monthly cycle last week, I found myself eating a banana with the belief that it’d quell some minor cramps. I’m sure we’ve all come across the potassium remedy for period crams at some post-pubescent point in our life. But why? So, borne out of an isolated banana-related incident, I present to you “Lady Life Hacks”.
    1. Invest in a hot water bottle. You’d be surprised how much comfort this will bring to you. Applying heat to your belly will increase blood flow and relieve cramps. Scientists even say that it has the same effect as painkillers for up to an hour.
    2. Indulge in dark chocolate. As if we need another reason to get our chocolate on. It still pays to know that there lies some science behind it. When the Red Moon is rising, you lose heaps of magnesium but a seventy percent cacao treat can help you regain the nutrient as it slips out of your body.
    3. Have multiple orgasms. Getting down and dirty can relieve migraines, cluster headaches and period pain. Definitely a win-win, huh? *smirks*
    4. Steer clear of getting waxed during the leak weak. Everything down there is extra sensitive when you are menstruating so why put yourself through extra pain?
    5. Resist caffeine. Umm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but frantically grasping for your caffeine dosage is NOT going to help you in the long run. Caffeine is known to make your PMS symptoms even worse, and it’s linked to elevating the levels of estrogen in the body.
