“The Wailing” was finally beaten by “X Men Apocalypse” in the Korean Box office after being on top for two weeks. The film has already crossed 1 million views.
The X-Men charter landed at No. 1 on the chart when it drew about 1,166,756 cinema goers during the weekend starting from May 27-29, the computerized box-office tally from the Korean Film Council reported.
The sixth chapter in the superhero action sequence showed ancient Egyptian god Apocalypse resuscitate to inflict disaster in the present world.
The role of Apocalypse is played by Oscar Isaac. Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Micheal Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult and Rose Byrne followed in from the prequel.
The film, since its arrival, has stayed on the top.
“The Wailing” by director Na Hong-jin was transferred to No. 2 but hung on strong on the table, with up to about 5.7 million viewers.
