On the 27 th of May, a shopping mall in Singapore faced its busiest day ever, as hundreds formed a line waiting to step inside Singapore’s first ever Pokemon themed cafe.
The pop up cafe with 60 seats is now operating on the mall’s fourth floor, inside the Everything with Fries restaurant, and will be open till the 31 st of July. On the 27 th , 200 people were already swarming around the cafe like bugs. There was a sign outside the cafe, which warned the customers that the line might be long, and it may take hours before they can take a seat inside. However, despite the long lines, the customers were still offered candied apples as goodies.
The cafe was inspired by a similar pop-up in the Shibuya district of Japan, which gained mass popularity, and just like its Japanese counterpart, it features 13 food and drink items which incorporates Pokeballs, Pikachus, and other Pokemons in their presentation.
The price of the food starts from $8 and goes up to $25.
The cafe has t-shirts, mugs, and other merchandise on sale too!
