As a child, our dreams were limitless. One fine morning we would plan on being a firefighter or an astronaut while the next day followed with the ambition to be a pop singer or an actor. Right? As we grow and start considering future career plans seriously, it is vital to preserve that passion and self confidence. Confucius had the right idea when he said, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
1.Embrace and allow your love for mathematics and science to strive over you. As nerdy as this may sound, these classes in school can help you decide which field to opt for. Some people have a bond with math and can mentally solve the hardest problems while others can’t wait to get out there and explore what the world has to offer. Do you enjoy learning about and using logic and fact? Yes? Go ahead; walk into the lines of inventors, scientists, economists, engineers or computer programmers.
    2. Let your imaginations go haywire. If you would rather let your heart flow out in the form of art, music, crafts, story telling or day dreaming, embrace it and work hard on the things you do enjoy. The logic and fact thing can go to hell. You could be a future artist, author, musician or designer! You could even go to the levels of Picasso, J K Rowling, The Beatles or Alexander McQueen. Believe in yourself!
    3. Find a mentor. Once you have skimmed down the career options you want to look into, find someone in that field and ask them all the questions you have. Ask them what their typical day is like, and if possible, shadow them for a day! By walking in the footsteps of someone who has your “dream job,” you can learn more about it and decide if it really seems right for you.
