It has been a while since yours truly has written a fashion article but she was just patiently waiting for the season to change and for a break from her hectic schedule. No worries though, because she is back again with some uh-mazing tips for the season filled with dripitty-dropitty-do!
Here is the style checklist you NEED to cross off this season!
•Transparent Umbrellas: You thought it was over in 2012 when Gossip Girl ended? Well, you could not have been more wrong because the chic transparent umbrella has made a comeback! You need to get this must have dome-shaped fashion goodness in your vanity right now. And if not transparent, you might want to go for hip prints like Aztec or dotties.
•Flip-flops: What? You want to wear cute rubber boots? Honey, this ain’t America! The term “rainy season” roughly translates to bathroomer juta a.k.a flip-flops. Girls of all ages are rocking some very pretty flip-flops these days. They are wearing it everywhere, starting from hangouts, to coaching and classes. Flip-flops bring forth the deadly duo- comfortable and cheap! Who can ever beat that?
•Minimalists and Mascaras: No matter how good your makeup setting spray is, heavy makeup is just not the way to go for the monsoon or summer. Put on some waterproof mascara, top off your sunscreen with some loose powder if you wish, and you’re good to go!
•Channel your inner rainbow monkey: Well, not to a headache-inducing extent, but some colors never hurt. People tend to believe that monsoon is the time to play it down and look as monochrome and banal as possible. Actually, no! Nude is for the winter. During rainy seasons, everything around you will look black and white, so you need to make sure that you bring a pretty contrast by wearing something that pops. You can do this by pairing a boring black and white, or solid grey tee with a brightly colored rain coat or shrug! Feel free to follow my previous advice and slip on some brightly colored (neon isn’t bad either) flip-slops as well!
•Layer it up: Scarves are not only for the winter, they are fgor the rainy season as well. A nice fringy scarf will go great with an oversized coat.
•Waves and Braids: Straight hair is just boring, and you are lucky as hell if you blessed with beautiful waves. Waves and different types of braids are perfect to funk things up for you.
•All about the beads: Again, make things colourful by putting on some beaded jewelry. Nothing to make you look more funky and boho-chic than beads!
