It has been almost a month since the heartbreaking news of Prince’s untimely death due to a drug overdose spread. Following the passing of the revered musician, moguls and people from various industries, ranging from music to fashion and entertainment turned to social media to express their condolences and, express their admiration for Prince’s unmatched sound and unique sense of style, calling him a truly inspirational person. Everyone who listens to music knows that the artist fearlessly embraced androgyny by incorporating both masculine and feminine elements in ways that people could never think of. His stylish get up is what stimulated innumerable runway shows and fashion labels. It was only a matter of time before a world renowned fashion magazine decided to posthumously pay tribute to the music and style icon, and Harper’s Bazaar Serbia did just that. In the June 2016 issue, the Eastern European publication of Bazaar hired Chanel Iman to channel her inner Prince a.k.a. Purple One with a sequence of covers that bring back memories of his most iconic looks. Photographed by Joshua Jordan, Iman was adorned by a Victorian-style blouse, a funky sequined coat and silver chains all around her hip, and she posed on a motorcycle holding a guitar just like Prince did on the album cover of “Purple Rain”. Her hair was all curly and fluffed up- a hair trend that Prince started.
