The “Unified Anime Legion-Bangladesh” presents ANIMECON DHAKA – 2016. The first large-scale Anime/manga convention in Bangladesh. UALB is an amalgamation of some of the most active anime communities in Bangladesh, and they are anxious to live up to the standards of an AnimeCon, and introduce it to mainstream pop-culture. The prime organizers of this event are Shahriar Hasan, a renowned face in the cosplay community and Wakil ahmed.
After DCC, JCC, BDCC, Dhaka Pop Expo, and various other conventions AnimeCon is appearing first time here for the huge group of anime enthusiasts in Bangladesh and also with an intention of introducing anime culture to the pop cultures here. The main segments of this event will be cosplay competition and art maze. The whole convention will be decorated in Japanese edo castle theme, intended to make the crowd have a feel of the edo period in Japanese anime culture. A wishing well will be set up as an impression of a wishing well in a traditional shrine in Japan, which is often shown in various animes. In Japan, it’s a tradition for people to throw coins in the well and wish for something to make it true, in this AnimeCon the tradition will simply be imitated and the money from this well will be given to PDF charity organization. There will also be performers in the AnimeCon. Also there will be stalls selling anime merchandise and Japanese food.
The AnimeCon will be held at June 3 to June 4, at Unimart, Road 90, Gulshan 2, Dhaka. Ticket price for each day will be 200 tk. Tickets will be available starting from 2 weeks before the event at various points within the city. Tickets will also be available on spot on the days of the event.
