You might lament come Valentine’s Day the feeling of being single, the lonely days and lonelier nights, days you just want to be pampered and spoilt. In the case of guys, you might be missing a supporting hand, someone who will stand beside you through thick and thin, someone who curbs your wild ways without making it apparent. Yes, we all have our pet peeves about being single but what are the advantages to it?
* With all the free time on your hands and possibly if you’re a depressed foodie, it might be a good time to join the gym. Take up yoga or Pilates classes; get involved with yourself and your body. Being fit and healthy will make you feel oh so much better than moping at home.
* Just imagine living your life your way. No one to answer to, no one to check in with; Stay out as late as you want and travel, be adventurous without the thought that you’ve left someone behind. It’s a truly exhilarating feeling to be the boss of your own little world.
* Being single doesn’t mean you’re friendless right. Have a girls or guys night out. Check out the latest clubs or restaurants, without the nagging thought of leaving a significant other out of the plan. Who know you might not be single long if you hang out with buddies.
* Ever been fascinated by painting, sewing or even fishing. Now’s the time to take up a new hobby or at least try a few things you’ve been meaning to do for some time. When single, you can give yourself a chance to explore what you might like and what you thought you would like but actually hate. Hobbies are a great way to get in tune with others as well via groups and meetings.
* Flirt to your heart’s content and take mini dates to find out who might be your one. It doesn’t mean that you’re open to dating multiple chicks or guys (within reasonable limits) that you a raging nymphomaniac.
* Guess what you don’t need to peek over your shoulder every time you post something on the web. No double checking you status and feeds to keep it free from prying eyes. We recommend complete transparency in a relationship anyhow but just in case you were once plagued with an overzealous and jealous beau considers yourself well rid of a nuisance.
* Best of all is the need to not put on a mask and smile and dally with people you know like any longer. The freedom to call a spade a spade is the best liberating feeling in the world. Exploit IT!
So boys and girls there you have it, mope no more, enjoy your life and do what you will… Just be happy.
