BSS, Dhaka
Bangladesh looking forward to restore some lost pride as they face tournament favorite host India in their third super 10 group 2 match of the ICC World Twenty20 scheduled to be held today at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, India.
The match kicks off at 8 pm (BST).
Bangladesh, by comparison, will be desperate for a win after two straight losses, the latest to Australia by three wickets on Monday, according to cricket website source.
Sitting at the bottom of Group two after also losing to Pakistan, the Tigers have almost no chance of advancing to the semi-finals, but skipper Mashrafe Mortaza vowed to continue battle on.
“We will keep fighting. We still have two matches to fight hard,” he said.
The Tigers were left reeling after the ICC’s decision at the weekend to suspend their top bowlers Arafat Sunny and Taskin Ahmed for illegal actions, forcing them to rush in replacements from Bangladesh.
There are also question marks over star batsman Tamim Iqbal who is unwell and did not play against Australia.
On the other hand, India have rediscovered their confidence after crushing Pakistan in their last crucial match at the Eden Gardens.
However, strike bowler Ashish Nehra hinted that his team would not be taking things lightly against Bangladesh in Bangalore tomorrow.
Having lost their tournament, opener against New Zealand in Nagpur last week, every game India play is a knockout. Nehra said the players were aware of what needed to be done and insisted that the mood in the camp was upbeat despite the pressure of winning every match in high-profile tournament.
