The state-owned Petrobangla on Saturday formed a separate inquiry committee to investigate into the fire incident that originated reportedly due to gas leakage in a Banani house early Friday.
Petrobangla director (administration) Md. Mostafa Kamal will head the 4-member committee, said a press release of the state-owned hydrocarbon corporation.
The committee was asked to submit its report within 7 days.
Earlier on March 18, two separate probe bodies have been formed to look into the fire incident.
Titas Gas Transmission & Distribution Ltd on Friday formed a five-member committee while Fire Service and Civil Defence a three-man one to ascertain the actual reason behind the fire that injured four people.
Fire service officials said the fire erupted on the second floor of the Banani apartment building at around 1:40 am and went up to the upper floors on Friday.
On information, 16 firefighting units rushed in and extinguished the blaze around 4:40 am.
Firefighters also rescued the residents taking shelter on the rooftop after extinguishing the fire. Of them, four who received minor injuries were taken to United Hospital in Gulshan, he said.
United Hospital sources said of the four injured, one was admitted to the hospital with burn injuries, while the rest were given first aid.
