    UNB, Gazipur

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq on Saturday said the property of war criminals will be confiscated and their family members will lose their voting rights.

Family members of the war criminals will be made the second class citizens of the country, he said.

The minister came up with the remarks while talking to reporters after visiting the graves of the martyrs of the first armed battle in Gazipur during the 1971 Liberation War.

Earlier, Mozammel Huq placed wreaths at the graves of Shaheed Niamat and Shaheed Manu Khalifa.

On March 19, 1971, a group of freedom fighters carried out the first armed resistance against the Pakistani Army.

However, the Pakistani Army opened fire to break the resistance, leaving Niamat, Manu Khalfa, Hurmat Ali and Kanu Bir dead.
