Kushtia-3 MP and AL joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif inaugurated the 3-day Lalon Memorial Festival taking place at the Lalon Akhra, Chheuria on Wednesday.
He talked about Lalon’s philosophy in his inaugural speech, “Lalon Fakir had wished for a society without caste and creed. His philosophy was to get along with anyone despite their religion. That is the lesson he wanted to teach everyone. This lesson can eradicate the intolerance that prevails in society even now. The Baul Samrat had always invited people to rise above their religious restraints and walk the path of truth and humanity. He created uncountable songs that spoke of the promise of peace. His music was not limited within any religion.” Hanif complimented Lalon’s wisdom and asked the audience to follow his philosophy to create a golden Bangladesh.
Hanif criticized BNP in his speech, “The population of Bangladesh is on the side of Independence and Sovereignty. The party that is not on the side of the Liberation war and the people who do not believe in Independence should not remain citizens of this nation anymore. The result of the Union Council Polls, therefore, brings disappointment for Mirza Fakhrul and his party. This result proves that burning people alive by petrol bombing them and committing crimes is not the way to stay close to the people.”
He informed the audience about future development plans, “A beautiful rest-house will be built at Kushtia Lalon Academy very soon.” Chairman of Kumarkhali Upazila, Adbul Mannan Khan announced 4 lac taka donation for the restoration of the Lalon Academy field.
