We’ve climbed to the peak of cruelty and brutality
Prof. Dr. Md. Tazul Islam, Renowned Psychiatrist : Payel was ditched into water instead to taken to the hospital after he got injured. Before solving the issues of the bus driver’s anarchy and reckless driving on the road, we have to find out the donors backing them up. These drivers are mostly absolute uneducated and in some cases, brave as well. From drug trafficking to various sort of plunderage, these are the ones mostly involved. In the transportation business, behaviours of the staffs of the human haulers is very shabby and are violent as well.
“Behave well with the bus staffs,” “dynasty is the identification of one’s family,” such are often seen written inside these human haulers. Those who write these should be poured ink on the face. The message should be written otherways, because the passengers are their guests. Those of us who say rickshaw pullers and bus drivers are the needy and poor ones, are of those who never have taken a rickshaw or bus ride. Only those who have, knows how badly they abuse their passengers.
We have reached to the level there we have no lure of humanity within us. We’ve climbed to the peak of cruelty and brutality. We do not hesitate to rape a female passenger or even kill some another on a simple argument. Our traffic polices rest their duties only by checking the fitness papers. But they do not check if the driver is adult or even if they a driving licence. They concentrate more on collecting bribes off them.
Most the drivers of the human haulers in Dhaka are underaged. In most cases, the helpers are the one driving the vehicles. The shipping minister, not long ago said in Bangladesh, those who are able to identify the difference between a cow and a goat, are considered qualified for a driving licence. But what sad is their ability of identification only limits to animals, hot a human being!
