The election to chose leaders of Supreme Court Bar Association for the year 2016-17 will be held on March 23 and 24.

“The decision was made at a meeting of executive committee of Supreme Court Bar yesterday. Advocate Harunur Rashid will act as the convener of the sub-committee for the election,” said Nimesh Chandra Das, Superintendant of Supreme Court Bar.

A total of 5,028 members of the bar are eligible to cast their ballots in the election. The balloting will start at 10 am and will go on till 5 pm, with one hour recess.

The candidates will vie for a total of 14 posts, of which seven are secretarial posts and rest are executive members. Candidates can collect and submit nomination papers from March1 to March 10 and can withdraw their candidacy on March 13.
