[2] The only son of Shakhawat Hossain and Malina Khatun, won International Children’s Peace Prize. [3] Studying at Narail Government Boys High School, the 17-year old was given this prestigious award for developing the “Cyber Teens” app”, after learning about a 15-year old girl who took her life after falling victim to cyber-crime. [4] It allows young victims to report their problem in a restricted manner to a group of cyber specialists and social workers, who then report it to the police, and also helps as a tool to learn online safety.” [5] He even reached 45000 young people in Bangladesh to teach cyber safety and even went to several schools in his local area to create “Cyber Clubs”.[6] Since the launch of the app, 300 online crime victims have been helped out and at least 8 people have been arrested for cyber-crime and online sexual harassment. [7] The $118 000 prize was awarded to him by the 2014 winner Malala Yousafzai, and he plans on using the money to develop the app and make it accessible all over Bangladesh.
