DOT Desk: Dr Reza Kibria has resigned from the post of convener of a faction of the Gono Odhikar Parishad. The party’s joint convener, Colonel (Retd) Mia Mosiuzzaman, will serve as the acting convener, Dr Kibria said in a press release on Wednesday.
“I am resigning from the post of convener and have submitted my resignation letter to the Central Executive Council. Besides, I have resigned from the party membership,” he added. In June last year, the party split into two factions, with Nurul Haque Nur leading the other part. Son of former Awami League finance minister and lawmaker Shah AMS Kibria, Dr Reza Kibria said he joined politics after leaving the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in December 2018.
And had been serving as the founding convener of Gono Odhikar Parishad since October 2021. “Before joining politics, I worked on public policy in various countries around the world.
