DOT Desk: Bangladesh Railway (BR) has signed a Tk193.64 crore contract with a consortium for their consultancy services for the Railway Connectivity Improvement Preparatory Facility (RCIPF) projectyesterday, reports TBS.
The consortiums – Oriental Consultants Global Co Ltd (Japan), EGIS Rail (France) and HSS Integrated Sdn Bhd (Malaysia) joint venture (OCG-EGIS-HSS JV) — in association with KS Consultants Limited (Bangladesh), SODEV Consult International Limited (Bangladesh), STRATEGI Consulting Company Ltd (Bangladesh), DevConsultants Limited (Bangladesh) and SARM Associates Limited (Bangladesh) – will carry out the feasibility studies and prepare detailed designs and development project proposals for 11 projects across 30 months. The 11 projects includes a chord line from Dhaka to Cumilla via Narayanganj aiming to reduce the distance between the capital and the port city by 90 kilometres and bring the travel time down by one-and-a-half hours.
