[2] On October 7 last year, Abrar Fahad, a second-year student of Buet, was beaten to death by a group of Buet unit Chhatra League activists in a dormitory, reported Jago News, Naya Diganta. [3] Later, Abrar’s father Bartak Ullah filed a murder case accusing 19 people. [4] Later, the DB police submitted a charge-sheet accusing 25 BCL men. [5] The trial of the murder has already begun at a Dhaka tribunal showing three accused as fugitive. [6] The fugitive accused are Mahmudul Jisan, Ehteshamul Rabbi and Mostafa Rafid. [7] The deceased’s father demanded completing the trial proceedings after arresting the three absconding accused quickly. [8] 22 of the accused — now in jail — were produced before the tribunal. Judge Abu Zafar Md Kamruzzaman of the Speedy Trial Tribunal-1 of Dhaka recorded the statement of complainant Md Barkat Ullah, father of the victim, for over an hour.
Later, the defence for accused Anik Sarkar started cross-examination of the complainant.
