DOT Desk: The cultural arena of the country was celebrated on the 49th Victory Day yesterday in order to pay tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives to liberate the country from the clutches of Pakistan occupation force in 1971.Different socio-cultural organisations and educational institutions across the country celebrated the day through special programmes and performances.Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) celebrated the occasion through a three-day programme featuring discussion, recitation, plays, music and dance performances.
at the academy’s National Theatre Hall from Saturday.
Marking the Victory Day, Bangla Academy has organised a daylong programme. The programme started in the morning by placing floral wreaths at the National Martyrs’ Memorial at Savar. Later, a discussion and cultural programme was held in the evening at the Nazrul Mancha of Bangla Academy.
Sammilita Sangskritik Jote has organised a four-day victory festival on the premises of Central Shaheed Minar in the capital, which ended yesterday.
Also, Channel i organised a daylong fair ‘Bijoy Mela 2019’ on the channel’s premises in the Tejgaon area. The festival featured mime show ‘Ami Bangladesh’ and celebrity talk show.
