Desk Report: Heavy rain coupled with onrush of water from the upstream across the border has created monsoon flood in some districts of the country, reports Daily Sun. Low lying areas in Bogura, Sylhet and Sunamganj districts have been inundated by flood waters, said Md Arifuzzaman Bhuyan, executive engineer of Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC). Rivers around Dhaka city may rise but no probability of flooding has been forecast in the rivers around the capital.
The Brahmaputra-Jamuna and the Ganges-Padma rivers are in rising trend which may continue in next 72 hours, forecast FFWC.
The major rivers of the Upper Meghna basin and South Eastern hilly basin are in rising trend.
