Traffic law is not for just one week, but for whole year

Prof. Nazrul Islam, Former Chairman, UGC:
To make people obey traffic laws, efforts should be underway throughout the whole year, not just one week. The effort should be constant.
The current situation of road transport is due to years of indiscipline, corruption and anarchy. These problems cannot be solved in a mere week or even a whole year. We cannot be lenient regarding corruption, or else the whole effort will be destroyed. This is because the source of the problem is corruption.
We have to work dutifully, repair the damaged roads, make sure that no illegal vehicles play the roads. Not only that, the traffic should be directed properly. Indiscipline, chaos and lawlessness should be combated and reduced. The state has to take measures to implement the reports regarding all vehicles as well as the long-term recommendations regarding those vehicles. In short term, all the recommendations should be followed. Therefore, all branches of the government that are responsible for these duties should remain alert.
