Bangladesh national women’s team captain Rumana Ahmed and off-spinner Khadija Tul Kubra will take part in the Women’ Big Bash T20 league in Australia as the pair were selected by separate franchises to ply their trade in the tournament beginning on December 9.Spin all-rounder Rumana was called by the Brisbane Heats, whilst Khadiza will perform for Melbourne Stars.Rumana is excited to join the Big Bash. She said to a national daily, “I am really happy to be playing as the first female Bangladeshi cricketer in this league. There will be a lot of fascinating players. I will try to learn something good from them.” Rumana will fly for Australia on January 10, while her compatriot Khadiza will take off on January 16. Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan is the only Bangladesh player to feature in the Big Bash.
