Patients in Need of Emergency Care, Can Not Be Arrested or Harrased: Health Minister

    The government has implemented new sets of laws that prohibit any authority from arresting or harassing the accident victim or patients brought for emergency care to any kind of medical institutions. To ensure full focused treatment for any patient (especially traffic accident victims) in need of emergency care, said Health Minister Md. Nasim. Md. Nasim also said that, these laws put a person’s life & health ahead over any sort judicial complexities. Also, doctors will also be allowed to take any necessary operation procedures without the consent from the patient’s guardian/relative, in their absence. In order to, save a life.Judicial actions will be taken against the doctor or medical institution if they hesitate/refuse to do so in time, and will face penalties for the breaking of this law. Medical administration is responsible treating any traffic accident victim in need of emergency care. They have no authority of arresting, harassing or transferring/taking the patient to the police-station, he added.
