Cops quizzing wife over suicide of CMCH medic

    Police are questioning the wife of a doctor of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) over his alleged suicide in Chittagong city.
    The woman was picked up around 12 noon yesterday as part of investigation into the incident, Mirza Sayem Mahmud, additional deputy commissioner (public relations) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP), reports The Daily Star.
    She went into hiding at a relative’s house in Nondonkanon area of the city after the doctor, Mustafa Murshed Akash, reportedly killed himself, the police official said.
    CMP Additional Deputy Commissioner (North zone) Mizanur Rahman at a press briefing said, “We are quizzing his (Akash) wife to know further details of the incident”.
    Akash, 32, who was posted at the medicine department of the CMCH, died allegedly by suicide at his residence in Chandgaon Residential Area in the premier port city.
    In another development, Dr Rajib Palit, emergency medical officer of the hospital, on Thursday said the reason for the death will be confirmed through autopsy report.
