Dot Desk: After a flag-meeting, BGB returned a shotgun, live ammunition and one walkie-talkie left behind by BSF at zero point at the border in Burimari land port, reports Banglanews24.
A flag meeting between Border Guard Bangladesh and Indian Border Security Force battalions has been held at Burimari land port in Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat.
The meeting between the two nations’ border guards was held on Saturday from 1:15pm to 1:45pm.
The BGB delegation, led by Rangpur-61 BGB Battalion Director Lt Col Shariful Islam, met with Indian Cooch Bihar-148 BSF Battalion Director Lt Col Banarambar Shau.
At the end of the discussions, the BGB handed back a shotgun, bullets and a walkie-talkie left behind by the BSF at the border.
Burmari Company Commander Ibrahim Mia of Rangpur-61 BGB Battalion told the Dhaka Tribune: “Two BSF guards had illegally entered into Bangladesh through the Munglibari border while pursuing cow smugglers on Friday evening. At one point, the Indian border guards were chased by angry villagers, during which the guards left behind some of their possessions.”
