DOT Desk: Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malik on Sunday said a monitoring cell will be set up soon to improve health services for patients in hospitals across the country, reports The Daily Sun.
“A monitoring cell will be set up soon at the ministry to ensure regular presence of manpower, proper maintenance of medical instruments, cleanliness and adequacy of medicine in hospitals. The cell will try to improve standards of services for patients in hospitals,” he said.
The minister came up with the statement while exchanging views with journalists at his secretariat office. Bangladesh Health Reporters Forum greeted the minister in the programme. Describing the development programmes, the minister said new infrastructures have been built in different level hospitals from capital to upazila and union level while manpower crisis in field level has been removed through recruiting 10,000 doctors and 10,000 nurses.
Zahid Malik said as per election manifesto, cancer hospitals will be set up in every divisional city and cancer unit will also be set up in every district and medical college and hospitals across the country.
He said school-based health awareness activities will be laid emphasis as part of raising awareness about cancer
