Jatiya Oikyafront has pledged the speedy trial of the attackers who pounced on students during the movement for safe roads in August.
In its manifesto, the major opposition alliance tried to win over students involved with the movement. During said protest, attackers , allegedly from the student wing of the student party, wearing helmets violently attacked the protesters. They were soon nicknamed as “helmet goons”, drawing outrage from all quarters.
Oikyafront went further and pledged immediate steps to mitigate traffic congestion in major cities. The alliance spoke of drawing elaborate policies, prioritizing public transportation, and promising safe and comfortable commute for all citizens of the country, reported The Daily Star.
Oikyafront also pledged to expand the railway sector.
