Foreign tourists can visit Bandarban

There is no legal bar for foreign tourists, journalists and diplomats to visit Bandarban before the forthcoming elections, said Bandarban district commissioner Md Daudul Islam. The district returning officer came up with the information while speaking with media personnel after distributing electoral symbols to aspirants at his office on Monday.
Mentioning that foreign tourists usually visit Bandarban with a law enforcement convoy, he said, “This may be tough at the time of election, that’s why we are requesting as such.”
District Election Official Md Rejaul Karim, Sadar Upazila Election official Md Shahadat Hossain and Sadar Upazila Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Noman Hossain Prince were present at time of distributing symbols.
