Lawyer missing, wife seeks PM’s help

    Hossen Sohel: A member of Dhaka Bar Association allegedly went missing from Pallabi last week.
    The lawyer Advocate Shaukat Akbar, 42, went missing after he left his residence to offer Jumma payers at a local mosque on September 7, his wife told journalists yesterday, reports The Daily Star.
    Akbar’s wife Chania Akter at a press briefing held at Crime Reporters’ Association of Bangladesh (CRAB), urged the prime minister and home minister to help finding her husband.
    She filed a general diary (GD) with Pallabi Police Station on the following day on her husband went missing.
    Unidentified people, over phone calls, threatened Akbar with his life in recent times centering a land dispute in his home district Noakhali, his wife said.

    Akbar had a long dispute centering land with one of his relatives in his home district, Chania Akter said at the press briefing.

    Akbar filed a GD at the same police station on October 17 over the death threat.
