Prof. Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor, Jagannath University : It will not be an easy task to to root out the drug kingpins. Petty drug peddlers will be easy to track and wipe out but not these kingpins.
Most the drivers, rickshaw pullers are drug addicts. We are running drug elimination campaign instead of control campaigns. This is not how you eliminate the chain. Opportunities for employment should be increased for eradicating drugs.
Everyone is supporting the ongoing anti-drug drive. Although many are being killed of the alleged gunfights, I feel the necessity of continuing such drive.
But eliminating drugs will not be permanently possible in this process. This will not do much good besides offering a temporary solution. Addiction has been an instinct to the human nature. We have been addicted to drugs for over hundred of years.
He underscored the addicted kids of the higher society as orphans. They do not  have any relationships with their parents. Their parents do not look after them. As a result, they get drowned into depression and get addicted.
Parents need to become more aware here, this is not a job for the law enforcers. Students of the schools were previously engaged in different extracurricular activities. This should must be restored to wake their creative interests back up again.
