Freedom Fighter quota in govt jobs may decrease: Minister

    Banglanews24: Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said that the government may reduce the quota for Freedom Fighter families in public service government jobs to some extent, considering the students’ demands of reforming the quota system. The minister further said the government also has plans to ensure prestigious positions of the Freedom Fighters’ children. “The present government believes in the spirit of Liberation War. The Freedom Fighters gifted Bangladesh by sacrificing their lives. The government is earnest to evaluate them and their children,” said the minister. “The government is thinking over the matter so that the Freedom Fighters’ children get prestigious positions in the country,” he added. The  minister was addressing a program to rename Bheramara-Pragpur Road and Bheramara Women College in Bheramara on Saturday noon (May 12). Kushtia-1 lawmaker Rezaul Haque Chowdhury, Bheramara UNO Sohel Maruf, Kushtia District Council Chairman Robiul Islam, among others, joined the program.
