Five Argentinian friends among eight killed, Sayfullo Saipov named as suspect

    Yesterday, at least eight people were killed and almost 12 people were injured after a truck was driven into a cycle way in lower Manhattan, New York City. According to sources, the suspect was identified as Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov. He was a 29 year old man who came from Uzbekistan but lived in the US since 2010. Among the dead were five Argentinian men who were celebrating their school graduation. They were identified as Hernán Diego Mendoza, Diego Enrique Angelini, Alejandro Damián Pagnucco, Ariel Erlij and Hernán Ferruchi. Martin Ludovico Marro who was their sixth friend was also injured.A Belgium woman and two other people were also among the dead but their names had not been identified yet. Report showed that this was an act of terrorism. The suspect yelled “Allahu Akbar” according to the witnesses. This case is being taken over by the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force. According to the NYPD after hitting the school bus, the suspect was shot in the abdomen while he tried to escape from his truck.
