Is our budget for the fiscal year people friendly? Is our finance minister’s statement about equality just a public relation strategy? Implementation of his policies to bring about a change is yet to be seen. How will the government fund the deficit? Will our working population be held responsible to fund it? The deficit has shattered all the previous records. A large amount of funds would be required to suffice the deficit, which makes it very unrealistic. Issues such as education, wages, remittance and workers living abroad should have been more highlighted. Prices of commodities should have been raised in a way which does not hamper the living standards of people living on and below the poverty line. Sectors requiring special emphasis were also ignored in the budget.
