Police recovered hanging bodies of a couple from a branch of a mango tree at Amgram village under Durgapur village of the district early hours on Saturday, police and villagers sources said.
The deceased were identified as Khokan Islam, 23, son of Abdul Mazid and Tina Khatun, 27, wife of Abu Sayed Budan. Both were the residents of the same village.
Quoting the villagers statements Parimal Kumar Chakravarty, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Durgapur Police Station, told the local journalists that said a love affair between Khokan, an electronics mechanic, and Tina Khatun, mother of a child, had been going on for the last couple of months.
